Aaron Kwok Rubs Shoulders... with Himself at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong

HONG KONG (May 22, 2006) Sexy super star Aaron Kwok met his match today as he unveiled his incredible wax likeness at the newly revamped Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, located at The Peak.

Aaron and his posse of backup dancers from the Jean .M. Wong School of Ballet had the Hong Kong Glamour room groovin' as they entertained VIPs, fans and media on stage.

"I am so proud to be the first celebrity to unveil a wax figure at the new Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. I am passionate about performing and I am really happy that my wax figure is permanently featured on a stage at the attraction. It means that my fans can dance with me on stage!" said Aaron Kwok.

Aaron's figure, flanked by red velvet curtains is displayed against a backdrop of four large video screens where guests can see themselves perform live - as if in an Aaron Kwok concert.

Aaron joins a star studded lineup at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and takes his place in the Hong Kong Glamour Hall alongside Hollywood's A-list including Hugh Grant, Brad Pitt, Michelle Yeoh and Elizabeth Taylor at what is the hottest celebrity party in town.

Aaron's figure wears an outfit designed by internationally renowned art director William Chang, which was worn onstage during his Mega Hits Live in Concert 2004. Typical to his dazzling style, Aaron's figure strikes a pose in a loose black jacket adorned with bursts of colorful flowers, as the handsome star sexily shows off his muscular torso and invites guests to get up close and personal. Aaron has supplied "himself" with his own sunglasses, accessories, even his watch, to add authenticity to his figure's stage outfit.

Kelly Mak, Head of Marketing and Customer Service at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, said: "Having Aaron join the star studded line up at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is a wonderful moment for us and for his thousands of fans.

"The all-new interactive and immersive entertainment experience that Madame Tussauds Hong Kong offers allows guests to be stars for a day. Guests can play basketball with Yao Ming or appear in a painting by Rembrandt. Now they can also stand alongside Aaron and 'join' him on stage at the most exclusive celebrity event in town!"

Selected for his outstanding achievements in the world of entertainment, the all-round performer attracts huge crowds whenever he appears in concerts, which are renowned for extravagant staging, lavish costumes and dramatic settings.

Aaron's achievements are not confined to the stage and screen and in 2003 he was recognized as one of the "Ten Outstanding Young Persons". Apart from being an active participant in various charity programmes including Po Leung Kuk, the Hong Kong Jockey Club and WWF, Aaron set up his own foundation in 2000 and is a regular contributor to various charities. Specific projects Aaron has been dedicated to include building schools in mountainous areas in Mainland China and elderly welfare.
