HONG KONG (June 28, 2006) It was a star studded affair at The Peak today as princesses of pop, Joey Yung and Twins met their incredible wax likenesses at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.
The glamorous visit marked the first time the young stars were able to get up close and personal with their doubles since the revamped Madame Tussauds Hong Kong reopened to the public on May 18. It was also the first time that three celebrities have been on stage together with their figures at the attraction.
Kelly Mak, Head of Marketing and Customer Services of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong said, "We are delighted to welcome Joey and Twins to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong to see themselves immortalized in wax. Since we reopened on May 18, we have received an overwhelming response from our visitors, who are enjoying the opportunity to meet their favorite stars, and do the things that famous people do."
During the ceremony, Twins added a touch of sparkle to their wax figures, which were resplendent in vibrant sequined gowns worn during their successful Hong Kong concert in 2004. The outfits were completed on stage when Twins added dazzling bracelets to each figure. The adornments were personally chosen by both stars and will remain a permanent feature on the wax figures.
Meanwhile, Joey Yung added a touch of attitude to her wax figure, with a chain belt to hang around the waist of her black and red checkered pants, an outfit complemented with a sensational red jacket featured in her "Show Up!" Concert in 2003.
Located in the Music Icons section of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, guests can sing with Twins in an adjacent karaoke room, and can also rub shoulders with Joey against a large backdrop featuring her famous face and autograph.
Just five weeks after reopening to the public, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is taking its place once more as one of Hong Kong's leading tourism and entertainment attractions as local residents and international visitors alike enjoy being immersed in the sensational world of celebrity.
