Miriam Yeung Measures Up to Giggle with Guests at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong

(Hong Kong – August 10, 2006) Putting the "sound" in "Light, sound and action", Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is set to welcome the first giggling wax figure in history, featuring Canto-pop's funny girl Miriam Yeung.

"Miriam is well-known for her fun-loving and bubbly personality, and we want to capture that essence in her figure. I'm sure her fans will feel right at home at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong as Miriam welcomes them with her contagious giggle!" Kelly Mak, Head of Marketing and Customer Services, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong said.

Miriam interrupted her Shanghai filming to attend her sitting in Hong Kong recently. Despite not feeling too well at time of the sitting, Miriam was in her usual good spirits and chatted with the sculptors freely. The sculpting team from UK was very impressed by Miriam's professionalism and inquisitive nature, as she was by the intricacy of the tools they used and the talent they displayed.

"I am very impressed how detailed the sitting was. I am used to being photographed and measured but this was something else entirely. Even my eyes were compared for color and a cast of my teeth was taken, "Miriam marveled.

During the measuring session, sculptors from Madame Tussauds took over 500 measurements of Miriam's head and famous physique, before standing on a turntable to be photographed from every angle.

"It's been my dream to be featured at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong," the bubbly star said. "I would like to thank Madame Tussauds for making my dream come true. I am looking forward to the day that I can 'meet' my double in person and joke and laugh with her."

Miriam's wax figure will be dressed in a traditional Chinese outfit, inspired by the classic novel "Legendary Fighter – Yang's Heroine" which was featured in one of her concerts.
