(HONG KONG – April 4, 2007) The relationship between Leo Ku and his cartoon sidekick "Kubi" was immortalized in wax today as Madame Tussauds unveiled the figures of the famous duo, marking the first time that the "world famous home of the famous" has introduced a pair of wax figures to its collection.
Edward Fuller, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong said, "We're delighted to welcome Leo and his cute cartoon creation Kubi to join the ranks of super stardom at Madame Tussaud's Hong Kong. Leo was consistently one of the most popular choices of local male artists amongst our guests based on our exit survey and we're thrilled that the first pair of wax figurines to feature in our collection involved such fun and entertaining personalities."
Leo said "I feel extremely honored to have been inducted into Madame Tussauds Hong Kong's star studded collection. I'm so excited to have Kubi's figure included along side my own, and can't wait for guests to be able to come through and see us up close together."
In celebration of the pair's admission, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong has developed an Interactive Comic Game, allowing guests to get in touch with their creativity by designing colour schemes, costumes and even facial expressions for Kubi.
The new game offers fun for guests of all ages and features three levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced, with each game judged by the smiling comic face of Leo Ku.
Guests playing the beginners level can choose between a comic scene set in space or on Earth and can add color and life to Kubi through a paint box palette and sound effects.
The intermediate level will feature a "spot the difference" game where players are presented with two similar images of Kubi and asked to identify where the differences are.
Guests playing the advanced level will have the opportunity to create their very own version of Kubi by selecting from a range of facial expressions, and costumes, including a pirate's outfit, a cowboy and even Elvis!
The wax figure will be featured in "Hong Kong Glamour" alongside other celebrities from entertainment, fashion, film and TV such as Aaron Kwok, Brad Pitt, Hugh Grant, Michelle Yeoh, Meryl Streep.
