Ronaldinho, or rather his incredible wax likeness, was seen today training with Kitchee players, fueling speculations that he plans to move permanently to Asia's World City to play.
"We're honored to have the living football legend Ronaldinho join the ranks of super stardom at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. Ronaldinho is a world-class footballer and one of the best players in the world," said Edward Fuller, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. "This is the first time his wax figure will be a permanent addition to the Hong Kong attraction and we are thrilled!"
With a squad of star Kitchee players in tow, Mr. Fuller of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and Ken Ng, Owner of the Kitchee Football Club, unveiled Ronaldinho's wax figure. In celebration of the festivities, Kitchee players showed off their football skills and performed tricks for the screaming crowd, while Peter Wong Hing Kwei, a renowned football correspondent, gave live commentary. The highlight of the event came as the Kitchee players and guests of honor all gathered to take a photo with the football super star.
Ken Ng, Owner of the Kitchee Football Club also spoke highly of the world class footballer, stating that he admires Ronaldinho's personality and character. He encouraged youngsters to emulate the values that Ronaldinho personifies and accept the challenge of excelling in their own lives.
To help guests further immerse themselves into the groovy spirit of football, an interactive display will be setup behind Ronaldinho's wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. Filled with colorful illustrations of Ronaldinho performing tricks, and set on a brilliant football field background, guests can study the moves closely before attempting the funky moves themselves!
Ronaldinho's figure will be displayed in 'The Champions' section of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, alongside other sports giants such as David Beckham, Tiger Woods, Yao Ming and Muhammad Ali.
The Kitchee Football Club is a top tier Hong Kong football organisation founded in 1931. Competing at the junior and national level, Kitchee's players are well known for their diverse range of football skills. In the earlier half of the year, Kitchee's A-list players had the opportunity to play a friendly match against Ronaldinho.
