Madame Tussauds Hong Kong Celebrates Chinese New Year with Free Admission for "Rats" on "People's Day"

HONG KONG (January 30, 2008) Leo Ku is a Rat, Korean actor Bae Yong Joon is a Rat, and even Mozart was a Rat in his day. And all three stars, together with over 100 other celebrities, will celebrate at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong in style this Chinese New Year!

The world famous celebrity attraction at the Peak is inviting all local "Rats" – or those born in 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996 or 2008 to celebrate Chinese New Year – with free admission all day on "People’s Day", the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Guests need only to produce a valid Hong Kong photo ID showing their birth year to enjoy the offer (applies to tickets purchased at the main entrance of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong only).

"Rat" guests and their families can get up close and personal with their Rat counterparts, Leo Ku, Bae Yong Joon and Mozart, who will be flanked by auspicious Chinese New Year banners – for the perfect photo. The Year of the Rat celebrity displays will be available for all guests from February 4, 2008.


Jackie Chan Wishes Guests a Prosperous Year of the Rat                         

Meanwhile Jackie Chan is set to add some glamour to the Year of the Rat celebrations next week as he dazzles guests at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong in his red, traditional Chinese costume.

From February 4 until February 13, 2008, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong will offer guests the chance to have their photo taken with Jackie’s incredible wax likeness against the stunning nighttime skyline. The photo will be finished with a Chinese New Year design to commemorate this once-in-12-years milestone.

Guests can elect to have their special Chinese New Year photo displayed on mugs (HK$110), key chains (HK$90 one pair) or in the more traditional photo frames in varying sizes (6" x 8" – HK$80 / 8" x 10" – HK$90).
